  Common questions:

Is there a way for me to know whether or not I can accept cookies?

Yes there is. To test whether or not your browser can accept cookies, click on the button below.

I have created an account for myself, but I can't get in, what's wrong?

This can be caused by two different problems.

1.) There are two different sections of the Yoga Network, one for students and others wishing to sign up to receive information about teachers and practitioners in their area. The second is for teachers and practitioners to sign up to have their information sent out to the aforementioned students. If you are having difficulty signing in, make sure that you signed up in the correct directory. Students can sign in here, while teachers can sign in here.

2.) Your browser must be set to accept cookies to be able to view any of the password protected sections of the site. Cookies are small files of information that are installed temporarily on your computer to identify who you are to the system, so that other people cannot access your membership information. These cookies never contain any personal information and we do not keep or collect any information from these files. If you are purposefully not accepting cookies, your browser may have a way of letting you accept cookies only for certain web sites. See the directions below on how to do this.

How do I set my browser to accept cookies?

To set your browser to accept cookies, please follow the instructions below.
The whole process should take less than 2-3 minutes.

Click on your browser version:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x    (All versions of MSIE 5)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x    (All versions of MSIE 6)
Netscape 4.x                                 (All versions of Netscape 4)
Netscape 6.x                                 (All versions of Netscape 6)
Netscape 7.x                                 (All versions of Netscape 7)

Click here to find out what version you are using.

For Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x browsers: (All versions of MSIE 5)

1. Open Internet Explorer, click on the "Tools" menu button at the top of the screen. Scroll down and click "Internet Options". A dialog box will pop up, click on the "Security" tab at the top, then click the "Custom Level" button at the bottom of the page.

  2. Scroll down through the choices in the menu until you see "Cookies". Click both radio buttons that say "Enable", as seen in the screen shot below:

3. Click "OK", then "yes" when it asks "Are you sure that you....?", then "OK" again. You should now have full access to our site!

For Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x browsers: (All versions of MSIE 6)

1. Open Internet Explorer, click on the "Tools" menu button at the top of the screen. Scroll down and click "Internet Options". A dialog box will pop up, click on the "Privacy" tab at the top, then click the "Advanced" button in the middle of the page.

  2. Click the options in the window so that they look like the screen shot below: The "override automatic cookie handling" checkbox is checked, the "First-party cookies" radio button has "Accept" checked, and "Always allow session cookies" checkbox is checked. The "Third-party cookies" does not matter to this site, as we don't ever set third party cookies. Our advice is to leave this one set to "Block".

3. Click "OK", then "OK" again. You should now have full access to our site!

I am using a Mac, and I am having trouble using the site. What is wrong?

While we have programmed this site to work across every popular browser and Operating System, we have found that there may be an issue with Netscape Navigator 4.x and the Mac platform. We are currently working on a solution to this problem, and hope to have a fix in the near future. In the meantime, we suggest that you download the latest Internet Explorer for Mac from the Microsoft website. We are unaware of any problems with Internet Explorer for the Mac. If you are still having difficulty navigating our website, please email us. Please include what browser you are using, as well as the Operating System you are using, (i.e., Mac, Windows 2000, 98, Linux, etc), as well as the details of the problem. The more specific, the better.

How do I know what browser version I am using?

Whether you are using Netscape or Internet Explorer, finding your version is simple. Click on the "Help" menu, and scroll down to the menu that says "about" or "about Netscape". Internet Explorer will bring up a pop-up window that will list the version number, and Netscape will bring up a web page telling you the version number.
